The elders started making them, and the children caught on – I had not thought that scarecrows were no longer part of a child’s knowledge base. It helped with a bit of modeling – so I got to make one finally, out of flower pots.
Phil made the first, the great Gertrude, scarily real. Yesterday we took them down to the field. Here we are.












Back to the elders (wellbeing in the wood) and Chris bought in a marvelous head, so we had to make a scarecrow to go with it. Bertie and Katie worked with Rachel on a somewhat ambitious tall scarecrow, using the now grown out of clothes from Chris, his head, and hazel of course.
