Wild Aldhurst

Organised by GreenPrint forum (Daniel). I had pleasure of meeting Jamie, a young apprentice with Greenprint – and what a dynamo. So quick to pick up, as we walked the dogs just north of Aldhurst on land adjacent to where the earth movers were creating Sizewell C. A fabulous fused beach

Site taken out of arable use 2014 – previous onion land by Sizewell development to create habitat restoration to rebalance their environmental impact further east. In particular to re-create wet lands in the existing line of peat. Also sites in Behall, Packenham and Halesworth 2024.

Management to favour diversity. 67 hectars along valley. Water many levels. Stubbings. Craig sand. Sandlings mosaic. Spread chopped up heather. Reptile relcation. Marsh Harrier.
